Abstract / Description:
The semiconductor industry is undergoing a profound transformation driven by AI workloads and software-defined hardware. This creates unprecedented challenges in hardware design due to high complexity growth, verification costs escalation, and time-to-market pressure. This seminar will explore both these critical challenges and innovative, intelligent solutions to address them.
This talk will highlight the pivotal role of Hardware Assisted Verification, showing an integrated approach for intelligent verification that leverages specialized platforms—including Strato CS, Primo CS, and ProFPGA CS— to optimize verification throughput, enable early software development, and address complex System-on-Chip (SoC) challenges.
We will also outline a strategic vision for integrating industrial-grade AI across EDA workflows, illustrating its transformative impact on design and verification, and its essential role in realizing the full potential of software-defined silicon.
Bio:
Hayder Mrabet is Senior Director at Siemens Digital Industries Software, where he leads an R&D team within the Hardware Assisted Verification (HAV) division, focused on developing breakthrough technologies for chip design verification. He holds a Ph.D. in Microelectronics from Sorbonne University. Hayder co-founded Flexras Technologies, acquired by Mentor Graphics, with its technology now forming the backbone of Siemens’ ProFPGA platform. He played a key role in building the R&D team developing the foundational SW&HW technologies for FPGA-based prototyping and later led the product engineering effort that launched the first Siemens ProFPGA and Primo products globally. Passionate about innovation, he collaborates closely with academia and industry to help drive the continued success of Siemens EDA.
