The world of IoT continues to evolve and grow rapidly around us. In this talk, we will highlight key challenges and opportunities for the changing world of IoT in Smart Home, Health, Industrial and Automotive segments. Specifically, we will illustrate some Infineon innovations in Wireless Connectivity, Security, Sensing, Presence/Location, Compute, Control and AI/ML to help address the challenges. We will also discuss and highlight the importance of standards, regulations and ecosystems to truly unleash the potential of IoT. 

Bio: 

Dr. Kamesh Medapalli is the Global Head of Systems, Research and Innovation for the Connected Secure Systems (CSS) Division of Infineon. Prior to that, he was the VP of Technology, Innovation and Systems and one of the founding engineering leaders of the IoT Compute and Wireless (ICW) Business Line of CSS through Infineon/Cypress/Broadcom acquisitions. He has 25 years of experience in Systems research and product development, holding key roles at Bell Labs, Bell Core, Beceem and Broadcom in SoC and Smartphone Platform Architecture, Platform Software and 3G/4G Cellular, Wi-Fi, BT, GNSS Systems. Kamesh received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University where he also served as a Consulting Professor. He has more than 100 patents issued or pending and publications in the general areas of Communications & Compute.
